READ Luke 15 COMMENTARY: : 2 And the Pharisees and scribes murmured, saying, This man receives sinner, and eats with them. (1234 “murmured” [diagogguzo] means always used of many indignantly complaining, to grumble, or to mutter.) DEVOTION: One of their chief complaints against the LORD was that HE was not politically correct. Luke the author of this book and the book of Acts makes this point regularly. He is a doctor and they are noted for giving detailed reports on what is happening in their patient’s lives. Here we find again that he thinks it is very important that those who want to be followers of Jesus Christ should not worry about the company they keep, as long as, they are doing it to honor the LORD.
