READ Malachi 4 COMMENTARY: : 1        For, behold, the day comes, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble; and the day that comes shall burn them up, says the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch. (1197 “burn” [ba’ar] means kindle, scorch, consume, to undergo combustion, or purge.) DEVOTION:  Judgment is still in the future. There are times of judgment but they are not the Day of Judgment. It is designated as a special day when the LORD is going to judge the living and the dead regarding their relationship to the message of salvation introduced by Jesus Christ when HE came to the earth.
